This
oak Welsh dresser from Carmarthenshire, c1800 epitomises what is
desirable in a poboard dresser. The open rack has an undulating
shaping to the frieze and ogee shaping to the lower sections of the
sides, terminating into high shaped shoes.
Supporting
the rack is a row of five spice drawers (one working, four dummy),
these in turn sit on a thick base board.
The
base of the dresser incorporates two rows of drawers which sit above
a deep triple ogee-shaped apron. This is supported on four turned
legs over a potboard base.
