Wine Coaster Casket of unusual form with rounded coopered interior and inset agate panels, with a shaped swing handle having carved oak leaf terminals, raised on faceted ball feet. The extensive silver embellishment features the Vaughan coat of arms and a depiction of the Nannau oak with the date 1813. (One agate panel replaced, some silver inlay missing). Related wine coasters from the family have the silversmith's mark: "TP, IP" and the hallmarks of London 1819 |
