A magnificent and very substantial example of a Welsh stick chair in ash from Montgomeryshire, circa 1760. It has delicate turned spindles and large sweeping arms ending in wide hand-rests.
The front spindles have well-worn fine turnings and the large seat has a beautiful grain. All is finally supported on three naturally curving legs.

This piece is featured in: "Welsh Furniture 1250-1950"
