D Richards of Aberdare 8-day longcase clock with painted arch dial with a rural scene. There was a T. H. Richards recorded in Aberdare in the 19th century. A David Richards (who may be his brother) was working in Pontypridd in 1851, an original bill of a similar clock showing that he charged 5 guineas. The fine quality case with figured mahogany pieces and inlaid stringing has a hood with a rounded top surmounted with a shaped pediment and brass finials and with spiral -twisted pillars, above a square trunk door flanked by spiral-twisted columns, over a base raised on turned feet.
