Exceptional and unique lovespoon from Pembrokeshire, 104" long, bearing the signature of W. Davies.

The pair of spons have the traditional chip carved decoration with balls-in-cage handles and inlaid hearts. They are united by an extraordinary chain with square and circular inlay of coloured woods and glass, and chip carved edging. When acquired, the spoon was in two parts with four rings mising. an almost identical example known is dated October 20th 1842.
