This is an exceptional example of a Welsh oak coffor bach (small coffer) from west Wales, circa 1740.

It has a one-piece top board and the front board has a beautiful figuring. The whole front is framed with applied beading and the drawer has a delicate chequerwork stringing in holly and bog oak.
There is a neat shaped apron to the front and the whole sits upon four cabriole feet.
