Welsh chest-on-chest from the Towy Valley, Carmarthenshire, circa 1780.
This is a well-proportioned piece. The top section has three rows of drawers and is framed by two reeded quarter-columns. The fourth drawer is a dummy and hides a fitted secretaire.
The interior of the secretaire has a delicate fretted design.
The base has three drawers and the whole is raised on a plinth with four shaped and pierced bracket feet.
