Exceptional and unique lovespoon from Pembrokeshire, bearing the signature of W Davies.
The pair of spoons have the traditional chip-carved decoration with balls-in -cage handles and inlaid hearts. They are unied by an extraordinary chain with square and circular inlay of coloured woods and glass, and chip-carved edging.
When acquired the spoon was in two parts with four rings missing. An almost identical example known is dated October 20th 1842.
